Research Data Management Awareness Workshop
This is basic workshop for beginning PhD candidates at the UMCG will give an introduction to what is meant by "data management" and why it is so important for your research. The goal of this workshop is to create awareness about research data and good data management. It will outline the crucial importance of a solid data management plan, how to make one and where you can get help.
Approximately half of the workshop will be theory. The second half of the workshop will concentrate on the UMCG DMP template and some possible answers given by participants. This will give insight into the types of answers that can be used in each section. This is not a technical course on how to store data or use the existing database infrastructure. Instead, it is meant to alert you to the steps you need to take to come to a good data management plan and help you on your way.
This workshop is mandatory for all new GSMS PhD candidates who started on January 1st, 2017 or later. If you are a senior researcher, staff member or student at the UMCG, you are welcome to attend the workshop but please note that the registration of the above listed PhD candidates has priority.
The maximum number of participants is 15. The minimum number of participants, in order for the workshop to proceed, is five. There is no waiting list. In case you cannot register, please register for another session.
Please note:
We will be starting on time, so if you are late you can register for another workshop. If you have to cancel your registration, please cancel at least one week in advance.
